"I have no way to cook, I'm homeless" these words echo in my mind as I watch the man, trying to hold onto every ounce of dignity he could, walk out of the church, thankful for the two lunch packs I was able to hand him for he and his wife.
My eyes are teary, so many hungry and homeless. I am so very blessed to be able to leave work, in a car (he was only able to walk), go home to a shelter from the elements, and have the ability to cook a meal.
Look around you, count your blessings, the hungry and homeless are in our neighborhoods, they are not just in foreign countries, they are here, pray for them, many are not there by choice or of any fault of their own, many lost their jobs to overseas companies, got laid off, or are not able to work, and find themselves and their families with no shelter or food.
I pray for there to be an end to the hungry and homeless, pray for them to one day be able to wake in the morning in the comfort of a dwelling they call home and are able to make themselves a meal. We all should be able to have the basic needs of life met.
