Blotchy, ashen, dapple-gray
from hues of blue this morning
stormy, tempestuous is it's way
turbulent clouds are storming
discord and echo fill the air
levin bolts express it's birth
clouds extended gateway flood
fulmination upon the earth
pitter-patter plummet down
puddles parachute bubbles
mizzle outpouring over pines
booming blasts nature troubles
emotional charge aroma
a canopy over the earth
as nature casts it's anima
apparition of its birth
The drip of the faucet
Roaring waves of the ocean
Babbling river or brook
All waters in motion
The tap of a pencil
The ring of the bell
Train whistle at daybreak
Sounds we know oh so well
Put these sounds together
Combined with the wind in the trees
Whippoorwill in the morning
Natures pure harmonies
Who says to make music
You need a guitar or drum
Music is all around you
From dawn to setting sun.
Natures light show
Seen in the northern sky,
Magical splendor
To the human eye,
greens purples and blues
brilliantly shine through.
As you watch this show of wonder
Joy and happiness fill your heart
These swirls of color over head
Shining brightly from the start
You also see the orange, yellows and red
Magical prisms of color fill your head.
Rain on the tin roof
Flash of light across the sky...
Got my cup of coffee
And flashlight on stand by
Hubby down in Georgia
Where the weather is just as bad
Wishes for safe travels
For a day off tomorrow, I'm glad.
Will sit and watch the storm
Pray for safety to those far and near
At least the weathers warm
So to freeze there is no fear.
Got all the comforts needed
Plenty of milk and oops no bread
So there'll be no poached eggs on toast
Guess I'll be eating cereal instead.
If that is my only worry
While others are battling the storms
I'll count my blessings with each bite
Of Shredded Wheat I'll eat in the morn.
When I was a child
Butterflies would amaze me all the day
Then at sunset the fireflies
Would come out to light the way
Flowers bloomed in every yard
Tulips and Daffodils
Robins would welcome in the morn
At night you could hear the whippoorwill
When I was older I noticed
Butterflies you seldom see
Fireflies are also scarce
Where could they all now be
Flowers planted by just a few
Lilies along the road
Bird feeders sit empty everywhere
Since most people are not at home
When our children get older
Will butterflies buzz around like bees
Can they take a jar and capture
Fireflies to make a light to see
Will they plant the flowers so the
Birds and bees will have a place to play
Or close their eyes to the world
Sitting inside and wasting their day away.
You can’t have a rainbow, without the rain
Can’t have the moon, without the night
You can’t have a valley without the mountain
Can’t have the left, without the right
You can’t have a rainbow, without the clouds
Can’t have the stars, without the night
You can’t have an ocean without the rivers
Can’t win the war without a fight
So many things we take for granted
So many things of which we complain
If all was sunshine there’d be no roses
There’d be no rainbows, without the rain.
