Snow is falling
By the fire
Carolers are singing
Cookies are done
lights on the tree
Candles in the window
On the mantle
Stockings are hung
Sealed with love
Cards are ready to send
Letters of hope
Of things to be, that have been.
Angels announce
Christmas is here
Birth of Christ
We've prepared all year.
Magic of Christmas
Children are sleeping
Silent night
December dreaming.
Tinsel on the tree
Fire burning bright
Children fast asleep
on this silent night...
candy popcorn dreams
Toy land in their minds
winter wonderland
Treasures they will find...
Oh the joys of Christmas
Hope is in the air
Presents for the children
Love is everywhere...
Star upon the tree
Shining oh so bright
The world is fast asleep
on this holy night.
Popcorn is strung, carols are sung
fire is sparkling bright
Fun has begun, stockings are hung
on this oh silent night
what ever happened to Christmas
family and friends gather round
trimming the tree, so dear to me
everyone was homeward bound
Turkey to roast, wine for the toast
dinner time we would say grace
from coast to coast, mom playing host
with a big smile on her face
what ever happened to Christmas,
the day all family was near
laughter and fun by old and the young
seems to fade year after year
Driving downtown
lights shining bright
carolers singing
"O Holy Night"
church bells ringing
oh what a sight
Christmas in our town
children's delight.
Santa's workshop
all gold and red
looks like a house
made of gingerbread
next to it standing
so tall and so proud
is our Christmas tree
with townsfolk all around.
All of them singing
holding hands in the square
in hopes that Christmas
will remind us to share
share with each other
the news of great joy
that away in a manger
is born a baby boy
that will walk among us
all here on earth
changing the world
since the day of His birth
He will bring great tidings
of peace when he's born
three wise man who traveled
on that Christmas morn
bringing gifts to the baby
of gold, incense and myrrh
replaced now with gifts
we place under the fir
so when you go riding
downtown in your town
take a good look at
the lights all around
remember the reason
we decorate so
it is not the presents
or even the snow,
What makes this day Christmas
is something you feel
the birth of our Savior
Peace, love and goodwill.
As we finish our shopping
don't loose sight
of the baby who was born
on that most Holy night
as we talk about presents
reindeer pulling the sleigh
the true meaning of Christmas
lay asleep in the hay
we decorate trees
green, red and gold
while baby Jesus'
story to us was told
then we go back to shopping
once again we loose sight
of the baby who was born
on that once silent night.
As you shop this Christmas
Sing a carol or two
Smile and say Merry Christmas
and in all that you do
Don't let the true meaning
of Christmas get lost
When you look at the bankbook
and how much it cost.
Christmas will come without
presents and bows
without all the glitter
without any snow
Christmas does not come
all wrapped like a glove
It comes form the heavens
and God's love above.
Log on the fire friends gather round Christmas Eve on the mountain Crackling fire the only sound Singing Christmas carols Sipping eggnog too Christmas on the mountain Simple life shared by few. Stockings hung off the mantle Christmas tree stands all aglow Waiting for that moment For Santa to put on his big show Christmas on the mountain Night Before Christmas has been read Children dreaming of sugarplums Dancing in their heads. Lookout Mountain at Christmas Leaves are on the ground Sun shining through the trees songs of nature the only sound Christmas in the mountains Simple pleasures still abound Sharing cocoa with your neighbor Songs of joy are all around. Star on the treetop To remind us of that night The wise men traveled miles To find the most beautiful sight The birth of that baby boy Gave us reason to celebrate Christmas in the mountains Remind us of the gift that He gave.
A child is born and angels sing
Yuletide carols the season brings
Love & joy now fills the air
Peace and hope are everywhere....
All because.... a tiny baby
born a king lay in a manger
shepherds followed the northern light
On this most holy of holy nights.
I dream of a vintage Christmas
Bikes, balls and a big stuffed bear
Instead under most trees today
Electronic noises fill the air.
Dream of a family gathering
Round the tree with lights so bright
Instead I hear the frustration
Over the cost of this most Holy night
Dreams of open sleigh rides
Replaced with a TV show
Instead of carolers singing
Children complaining about the snow.
I dreamed of a vintage Christmas
Like my grandparents spoke of years past
Instead today seems commercialism
Is the spirit whose shadow is now cast.
By the candlelight and mistletoe fires burning warm and bright carolers break the Silent Night your arms around me oh so tight Christmas Eve as we watch it snow no boxes wrapped in pretty bows just candlelight and mistletoe no eggnog, turkey or pumpkin pie just a fire burning for you and I
Put a log on the fire, warm the hearth till I come home
Decorate the Christmas tree, don't sit there waiting by the phone
Santa's coming down the chimney bringing toys for bill & sue
Know that I'll be coming home if it's the last thing that I do
Christmas in the desert dear won't be the same as there with you
Eggnog, turkey and pumpkin pie replaced by rations for the crew
Christmas carols will not be heard, instead the sound of war
I'll be home for Christmas dear, hang the wreath upon the door.
Put the star on the the tree, light the lights for me to find
Bake the cookies with the children, gingerbread and the sugar kind
Daddy's coming down for Christmas bringing love is all he needs
Know that I'll be coming home, you don't need wait up for me
Christmas in the desert dear won't be the same as there with you
Stockings hung on the fireplace is not something that we'll do
Sounds of laughter, peace and love replaced by gunfire in our heads
I'll be home for Christmas dear, if only dreams while lying in my bed
Christmas at our house, our children and you
Christmas at our house, love's all we knew
Christmas without you, will not be the same
Christmas without you, i'll be going insane
Merry Redneck Christmas
It’s how we do it way down here
Shoot the turkey Christmas morning
Serve it later with a beer
Watch the kids all open presents
Knowing Santa has been here
Oh...... wait….. you mean he came down my chimney
While me and ma were fast asleep
Then he laid out all these presents
Ate the Oreo's without a peep
Seems we ought to call the PO PO
On this jolly old red elf
He is doing too much ho ho
as into my house, he helps himself
Merry Redneck Christmas
Ring the cans loud and clear
Merry Redneck Christmas
And a Happy New Year!
As you sit all around the table
young'uns all go run and play
say a prayer for their mama
As she goes about her day
She was up late drinking eggnog
Wrapping gifts to put on the tree
now she's giving hugs good-night
And it's only half past three
Merry Redneck Christmas
Ring the cans loud and clear
Merry Redneck Christmas
And a Happy New Year!
Stockings are hung
children asleep
mommy and daddy
through the house, they do creep
watching for Santa
listening for his sleigh
all getting ready
for Christmas Day
but in a land far away
in a manger He did lay
no stockings, no ribbons, no bows
He lay asleep on the hay
on that first Christmas Day
a miracle to the world He did show
come Christmas morning
children will rise
mommy and daddy
though the sand is still in their eyes
watching the children
anxious to see them play
with toys they have got
for Christmas Day
but in a land far away
in a manger he did lay
no stockings, no ribbons, no bows
He lay asleep on the hay
on that first Christmas Day
a miracle to the world He did show
food in the kitchen
football on T.V.
mommy and daddy
Happy for all that they see
children and laughter
now fills the day
thankful for sharing
another Christmas Day
but in a land far away
there are families who can’t pray
who do not know the gift of the Child
do not share the same joy
with their little girl and boy
or the meaning of tender and mild.
so on this joyful Christmas day
to our Father we should pray
He gave us the greatest gift that night
to us He gave His son
His only begotten one
Our Savior, Our Lord, Our Light.
A baby was born in that manger
Giving hope all around
No matter how frail life may get
There is hope to be found
On the most silent of nights
When the world goes to sleep
We awaken Christmas day
With a new found peace.
The hope and peace of Christmas
Does not have to end with that day
The love of Christ should shine
Showing the world with your faith
When you take down the tree
Do not put Christmas on a shelf
Keep the hope and love alive
Not for one month but for twelve
The love and joy of Christmas
Can live all year within our heart
A baby was born in a manger
That was just the start.
Sing all ye faithful
of the Christ child's birth
Remember all the year
what it's truly worth
Sing for the season
Loud and clear for all to hear
Christmas is not just a day
It should live on throughout the year.
In just ten days
Children everywhere
Will be all excited
As they head up the stairs
Tucked in tight
The night before read
Visions of toy land
Dance in their head.
In just ten days
Our Savior is born
The true reason for the season
To celebrate Christmas morn
It's not about Santa
Or the toys under the tree
But the birth of Baby Jesus
Celebrate the nativity.
In just ten days
The world will feel peace
Sing carols of joy
Love that should not cease
It's that time of year
Be it you're ninety or ten
You forget all the problems
Celebrate hope once again.
In just twelve days
After the bows are all gone
Gifts are all open
Carolers have all sung their songs
Will you forget the reason
We celebrated this day
Or will you keep Jesus
In your home and heart to stay?
In just ten days
Children near and far
Will sing Silent Night
Wish on the Christmas star
Teach them that presents
Do not come under the tree
The gifts that matter in life
Are the ones we cannot see.
Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the world
Not a child was seen praying
Everyone's mind in a whirl
They had finished their shopping
But praise and joy was not found
Decorations were getting ready
To be all taken down.
There was not a present
Wrapped with love and with joy
It was all about finding the
most expensive toy
The one that all wanted
But to play with, they wont
They wanted it so that
To their friends they could gloat
Christmas shoppers aren't merry
They seem sad most the time
Complaining about money
Not wanting to spend their last dime
But they will keep on shopping
And then go home and be done
Then they'll wrap all the presents
And fill the stockings they hung.
what happened to Christmas
To the joy and the cheer
what happened to presents
That you'd make through the year
what happened to Jesus
And the stories we told
what happened to carolers
Singing out in the cold
Why is it that Christmas
Now only comes with a price
The greatest gift of them all
Was our Lord's sacrifice.
Twas the night before Christmas
I will call my grand kids
Read them the Christmas book
And remind them of this
It's not about presents
wrapped in a bow or a toy
It's about Mary and Joseph
And the birth of their boy
It's the story of Christmas
That many seem to lose sight
of the miracle of Christmas
That happened this most Holy night.
As you trim the tree and bake the pies
Thinking of the joy in your children's eyes
That morning when they come to the tree
Glowing bright for the world to see....
Remind them of the baby born
The true reason for this Christmas morn,
Tell them the story of the baby boy
And that Christmas is not about a toy.
Share with them a story of yesterday
Before they run from the tree to play
Talk about family, friends and of love
That truly comes from our God above.
Remind them of just how lucky they are
Tell the story of wise men who followed the star
Three gifts were given to Jesus that day
One gift He gave us that always will stay
Close to our hearts, His love is right there
To remind us there always is someone who cares
The gift of love is the greatest by far
One you may share wherever you are...
As you open your gifts this year 'round your tree
Say a prayer for those who are lost and lonely
Pray that one day there'll be someone to show
The Light of the world, we've all come to know
So on this Christmas morning more people will see
It's not about presents that sit under their tree.
1 December 2015
Christmas without friends and family
Does not feel like Christmas to me
Wrap the gifts, others sent by mail
No one to read a Christmas tale
I’ll get on Skype, read The Night Before
To the grandchildren whom I truly adore
Will not be the same without seeing their face
Memories like this you cannot replace.
Christmas without friends and family
Is like a star without a tree
Presents wrapped, all pretty with bows
While I sit and wish for Christmas snow
To see the children playing all bundled up warm
And carolers singing a Christmas song
Fire crackling in the fireplace
Memories like this you cannot replace.
Christmas without friends and family
Will celebrate Jesus and make a new memory
I’ll get a cup of tea, watch a Christmas show
Sing Silent Night and dream about snow
Remember that Jesus is the true meaning today
It’s not about family and friends far away
I’ll make Christmas dinner, thank God and say grace
Memories like this you cannot replace.
I’ll hold everyone dear to me safe in my heart
Memories like this are where now I must start.
Christmas will still be here without ribbons and bows
It will still be here without bonfires or snow
Jesus is the reason we want so much to share
Why we celebrate with joy, peace, love and care
I’ll celebrate Jesus and past years I’ll embrace
Memories like this you cannot replace.
It is so silent
the most Holy of nights
Children to bed early
all tucked in tight
Moms and dads
Busy as they can be
Staying up late
Assembling toys for the tree.
What about Jesus
Where does He fit in
Do you even tell
Your child about Him
The true Christmas story
Does not include gifts on a tree
It's the story of Jesus
Of the Nativity
Talk about the wise-men
And the shepherds that night
How they followed a star
That was shining so bright
The Angels who told them
Of the Baby born in the cold
Born in a manger
No more could the Inn hold.
We all celebrate Christmas
We shop and have fun
But when we open the gifts
Do we say it's all done
Or do we sit with our family
Thank God for our life
Due to that Baby
Born the most Holy of nights.
